The most underrated and overrated men in recent history. Gorby - he ended the Cold War. No, he wasn't beaten into it by the hard, focused policy of Reganzo, he just realized the game was up and he looked for a peaceful way to end it. He was not entirely successful, and he made mistakes, but the task of bringing down a lumbering, ramshackle totalitarian regime without damage is not an easy one! He did pretty well, all things considered.
Reagan, a lazy, incurious, delusional actor (of some talent) who was sold as our president. It's a good thing that his End of Days religion was tempered by his lackadaiscal personality, otherwise we might have witnessed Armageddon. His Cold Warrior hero status rests on his ill considered, budget-busting spending on "defense" programs, chief among them his ridiculous (still breathing) Star Wars initiative. Of course, he claimed he would share it with the USSR once it got working right. What a boondoggle for military contractors!!
