I'm Back...

Not quite the prodigal son, but I'm back from my lengthy absence from the world of blogging. Why did I leave? I was depressed by the Yahoo nature of so much of what I saw in the blogsphere, it was taking up too much emotional energy. I found myself seething at the stupidity, venemousness, and sheer rudeness of so may bloggers with whom I traded comments. (Of course, I only posted to sites with content that I totally disagreed with, but how else to learn something? I don't need to go to the Web to find people I agree with!) I thought I might learn something through these exchanges, but most people only wanted to rant and rave, and they didn't seem able or willing to consider my arguments even as they denounced them.

I quit because as long as I was blogging, I felt, the temptation to troll the 'sphere, boost readership with cross-posting, and monitor my hits hourly, by the minute, every second!!, seemed too great. But I'm here to try again, although as a sort of hermit. I return once again to my original intention, to create a blog that will be a record of me, solely for me (and for anyone who cares to read it when they stumble onto it) and nothing else.

I'm not going to check my hit-rate at all, honest!
